Wireless set 19 mounting tray remake [some parts are WW2 stock] is made to supply a growing demand for the WS19 and it's accessories. Mounting trays are so rare for these sets, that something needed to be done, so I made a few - and when stocks run out I do not plan to make any more. There is a high level of accuracy in getting them to be the same as the original, with one difficult area being that the spacing for the holes in the sides of the various 19 sets from various countries varies to a tolerance of mm -eg 2mm difference between the 2 extreme variants. It is sometimes necessary to file the slots on the radio box to make the strap assemblies fit properly. I discovered the problem, and made changes to the parts so that they are typoically going to fit. In a special case where a customer does not wish to 'fit' the strap holes, a special strap can be made as a 1-off at an additional cost of $75 Au .In production,1-offs are expensive, but the service is available .I would need very precise measurements from your/customer's radio box-holes. Price is $ 195 Au and postage within Australia but not O/S just for now,tosty@internode.on.net PH Andrew 0422 574 723 I have no complete one in stock ready for Sale.[delay time after order is 1 week to prepare anotehr new one at June 2011 ] over 24 have been sold around the world since I started making them. recent sale has temporarily run me out of finished stock item. This website will be updated as soon as another one is ready for sale, or 1 week delay if ordered now. |
| Remake of 101 set and FS6 main set leather straps
[A.W.A. 1941 ] The straps have been made from the correct leather - new and specially cut, using original copper rivets. Many of the 101 and FS6 radio straps are either missing or splitting. The ones that are not splitting near the end of the strap are rare now - so to make it safer and to solve some problems I decided to make some new ones. I have a few in stock here ready to go now - and I had been trying to get them made for me for years finally I made them myself... here are the pictures , and the length is correct, the thickness, etc. even the colour. The power supply straps are not being remade here - as they are often ok, and some power supply boxes that exist turn up with a strap- so that becomes a spare in thelong run . Yes I will make power supply straps some time soon, but so far there is not much demand for them . so email me if you are interested
in a power supply strap in the long run of things. OK here is the strap for the
set..... tosty@internode.on.net 0422 574 723 Andrew in Edwardstown, Adelaide 10mins S.W.from Adelaide city centre . |

| The M8 "Greyhound" 6 wheel drive
armoured car was sometimes fitted with a WS No 19 radio on the Right hand side . I have a photo of the outside view, but I am looking for a photo of the inside of the Greyhound, showing the location of cables and junction box , variometer for the A set.. tosty@internode.on.net 0422 574 723 [+61 ] & remove '0' for overseas callers into Australia . This in formation requested is vital for the restoration of the M8, as the locations will have to be guessed if no information can be found in time. I am willing to email back any installation photos that we do have to help with comparison of memory that you you may have from seeing it years ago . It is possible that the WS 19 was only fitted after WW2 - although the chance of it being fitted during WW2 in some vehicles is very high since I have read enough to suggest that it is true... the photo is coutesy of the internet, website about the greyhound, and is the only 1 i can find showing this installation type. The Greyhound that is being restored is not the one in this photo, but is fully operational, and will be seen at events. The radios SCR-508 and WS 19 Mk2 are both fully working except the transmitters are disabled for now.
