Is
your dog bored in your back yard?
We are finally catching on that your dog needs
more things to do while you aren't there! Take a
good look at the new toys that are offered to help
your dog pass time. Toys that deliver food as the
dog plays with them are great. "Kongs" are one of
the best because they can double up as throw toys
that have an amusing bounce.. You can put pieces of
liver or chunks of cheese inside. Have your Vet or
their assistant help you go through the great
variety of toys on offer. Cats aren't left out
either. I've seen a scratch toy that also delivers a
treat. Now Birds can have "KONGS".
Other interesting ways
of keeping your pet from being bored is to have a
raised platform so they can observe the neighbors.
Nosy cats will enjoy climbing a carpeted (underside
of the carpet Out) pole to reach their retreat. You
can put things up there especially if there retreat
is inside such as litter box,
dangling toys,
lovely cuddly blankets, and stuffed toys. (With 2
cats always have their toys on equal levels to keep
one from feeling inferior to the other.) Another
"be careful"
note: Always think
about safety especially chances of the animal
getting tangled or chewing on something that could
get stuck in their stomachs. |
