Scotney Castle

The following image is an ink drawing from a photograph of Scotney Castle on the Kent/Sussex border in the south of England. Suzy bought an English Women's magazine as we were planning our itinerary for our UK trip. A feature story on 'Great gardens of Kent' included a half page picture of Scotney Castle and I instantly recognised it as the subject of a painting by my Great-grandfather which is now in the possession of my parents. I found the castle's location in the touring atlas and we visited twice. Below is an ink drawing of the castle and moat that I completed at home from photographs taken specifically for this purpose.
