THE COACH
(Peter Simmons)
"I'm surprised at how little our players know compared to how much they think they know...I'm surprised at how uncommitted they are to train, play, to accept criticism and instruction and disappointed that it's such a battle to get players to understand what you want them to do...We're a fantastic team when things go our way but as soon as they don't it all turns horribly sour and we look for excuses and blame somebody else. No-one takes responsibility."

COMMENTS
Unley Oval continues to be an unhappy hunting ground for the Tigers after an 18 point loss to the Double Blues.  Glenelg jumped out to a commanding 20 point lead but hopes of victory were quickly dashed with Sturt kicking 8 out of the next 10 goals to lead by 23 points at half-time.

For one of the few occasions this year, Glenelg's midfield was soundly beaten around the packs.  Despite 30-24 favourable hit-out count, the Blues were harder around the packs and when the game was on the line clearly dominated the stoppages.

The forward line failed to function, kicking just one goal between Mitchell and Duldig.  Admittedly, Duldig played the second half in the backlines to nullify the Blues height but it is clear the Tigers are lacking a threatening tall forward player.  The Tigers are also lacking a tall defender and are clearly missing the presence of Aidan Parker.

Brett Backwell was a late omission with a knee injury.
