ROUND 7 PREVIEW v NORTH ADELAIDE (9/5/08)
The Tigers welcome back James Sellar for the rivalry round game against North Adelaide. Glenelg is gunning for their fifth victory and their fourth against last year's finalists.

The rivaly between the two sides dates back to 1973 and the mid 1980's. Three out of four grand final successes were against North Adelaide.

In 1973 the Tigers were victorious by 7 points in the greatest SANFL grand final of all time. The game is remembered for Graham Cornes's last minute mark and goal that secured victory.

It was twleve long years before the Tigers tasted premiership success again with back-to-back victories against North Adelaide in 1985 and 1986.

In 1985 led by Peter Carey, Stephen Kernahan and Chris McDermott the Tigers reversed a 29 point second quarter deficit into a 57 point victory.

In 1986 an inspired performance by Peter Carey and Tony Hall  secured a 48 point victory against the odds. The Roosters gained some consolation in 1987 with a thumping triumphant by 82 points.

Graham Cornes and Peter Carey were involved in all four grand finals. Peter Carey as a player and Graham Cornes as a player in 1973 and as coach in 1985,86 and 87.
