The new garden or my main garden is a large expansion of my my older smaller systems. The layout I decided must allow me to get amongst the plants better without breaking my neck as well as space the plants growing beds further apart.

The new garden is basically a increase of the last one by about 4 times. I have installed a larger sump with a capacity of 160 litres, I have also increased the size of the header tank. The nutrient solution is delivered to the garden beds using a main 25mm pipe from the header tank. Each bed then has a 19mm tap of the main 25mm line at each section. Each garden section has its on 19mm valve for isolation as well as a 19mm inline filter. The valve allows me to isolate section when they are not in use or when I am cleaning the line filters. Water is pumped from the sump to the header tank using a mains powered sump pump as the 12V bilge pump was unable to do the work. The control system remains the same as the old garden with float switches in the sump and header tank.
The reason for the sad state of some of the beds as well as the absence of plants in some of them is where I live had just suffered the longest hot spell in the weather for approximately 70 years. With daily maximums reaching the low to mid 40 degrees Celsius. I don't have shade over my garden as the expense would render the garden a very expensive hobby.
