The Lettuce Growing Gullies

The lettuce gullies are a separate garden to the main one and this is due to the length of the drain sections that make it up. Below are pictures as well as a description of the overall system.

System Overview

The power for this system is provided by a garden light power transformer. The output of the transformer is then rectified by a bridge rectifier and then filtered by a capacitor leaving leaving me DC which is then connected straight into another of my self designed control systems. The sump has 40 litre capacity and is fitted with a float switch at the bottom. A small submersible bilge pump resides in the sump and pumps the nutrient solution to the end of the gullies via a 19mm pipe. It is then broken down into two 13mm pipes with valves fitted to allow for control of the flow.

More to come soon when I get the time.....
