links
Listed below are my favourite LEGO® related links. This is by no means an exhaustive list. There are many other worthwhile sites to be found and I would encourage you to search for them.
LEGO Company
| LEGO® Mindstorms | This is where it all really begins. If you are unfamiliar with the Mindstorms systems, the official LEGO® company site is a good place to start. |
Personal Sites
| Mario Ferrari | A very large range of RCX based robots. Lots of great ideas. |
| Jennifer Clark | A collection of amazingly detailed Technic cranes and excavators based on real machines together with a wealth of background information. |
| Philippe Hurbain | A large range of RCX based robots plus some NXT based bots. Technical info for both RCX and NXT. |
| Soren Rolighed | Some very sophisticated RCX based models. |
| Matthias Scholz | A growing collection of NXT based models. |
| Dave Astolfo | Home of Dominobot and other NXT bots as well as a good collection of RCX driven models. |
| Kevin Clague | A great collection of wierd and wonderful walkers. |
| Steve Hassenplug | Inventor of the GBC (I believe). If you don't know what a GBC is then you need to visit this site. |
| Andrew Carol | Andrew created a mathematical difference engine from LEGO® Technic. This has to be seen to be believed. |
| Anonymous | I can't identify the owner of this site but it is well worth a visit to see the knitting machine and the "Strandbeest". |
Organisations
| LUGNET | LEGO® Users Group Network is probably the largest LEGO® user group in the world. This site is dedicated to all things LEGO® - not just robotics. |
| SMART's CCCC | This page is a part of LUGNET but has links to some great videos of the "Cooperative Cybernetic Crate Contraption" (CCCC) put together by an organisation called SMART. |
| SOURCEFORGE.net | Bricx Command Centre is an integrated development environment that simplifies programming when using third party languages, eg, NQC, NBC. You can download it for free. |
| Peeron.com | Lists the inventory for a huge number of LEGO® sets. |
| Brickshelf | A repository where registered users can display photos of their models. A huge collection of photos. |
Blogs
| The NXT STEP | A very active Mindstorms NXT site with a number of contributors - many from the Mindstorms User Panel. The site is almost forum like in nature with lots of comments from readers. |
| nxtasy.org | Another very active NXT dedicated site. |
| BnXT | This site acts more as a set of links to other sites. New references are added daily. It also has its own postings. |
| TechnicBRICKs | This site has a gift for reporting some really exotic technic creations. Be patient if you click on this link. It takes a very long time for the page to load the first time. The wait is worthwhile. |
Shops
| HiTechnic | Manufacturers and suppliers of a large range of third party sensors for both RCX and NXT. |
| mindsensors.com | Manufacturers and suppliers of a large range of third party sensors for both RCX and NXT. |
| BrickLink | A market place where you may buy or sell just about any LEGO® piece that was made. |
| Moore Educational | A supplier of LEGO® service sets and educational products. This is an Australian company that supplies locally. I do not kwow if they will ship internationally. |
