Caramel Dumplings

Ingredients

Sauce

1 tblsp butter
1 cups water
1 cups firmly packed brown sugar

Dumplings

1 ¼ cups SR flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/3 cup milk
1 teasp vanilla

Method

Sauce

  1. Place all sauce ingredients in large saucepan
  2. Stir constantly until boiling
  3. Remove from heat

Dumplings

  1. Melt butter, mix in sugar, then flour
  2. Add milk with vanilla gradually
  3. Mix until dough
  4. Reheat sauce to boiling, then reduce to simmer
  5. Drop tblsp size dough balls into sauce
  6. Cover tightly and simmer 20 min
Serve warm with cream
