We live in a strikingly beautiful but fragile environment.

The Sea Change phenomenon is well documented, with its consequential pressures on coastal and rural towns, as people seek alternatives to modern city life.

Effective Coastal Management is an absolute priority, if we are not to lose that for which we are most famous: our pristine, wilderness, isolated and rugged coastline.

Population Growth in the townships within our shire are placing huge demands upon our natural resources and social infrastructure.

Managing and reducing Waste , and keeping our oceans and rivers free from plastics and other pollutants, is a key focus in promoting Margaret River 's green image.

The intrusion of Weeds into wilderness areas, and the control and management of weeds generally, challenges us with the need to pursue responsible practices in land management, to not only reduce the spread of weeds, but to eradicate or control those already establishment in our natural environment
