Bargaining Part I

The gang argue as they prepare to bring Buffy back. Giles leaves for England after the death of his slayer.

Bargaining Part II

Buffy is brought back from the dead, and she is disoriented, as well as being deeply traumatised when she realises where she has been.

Afterlife

Buffy tries to adjust to everyday life, but she is deeply unhappy. She must also try to defeat a demon which was a result of Willow's resurrection spell. Buffy admits to Spike that she was, in fact, in heaven, and not hell as her friends thought.

Flooded

Buffy tries to work out the financial situation for her and Dawn, as the responsibilities are piled up on her shoulders. We are also introduced to the Trio, a geeky group of men who, in this episode, rob a bank.

Life Serial

The Trio aim to weaken Buffy as she tries to find her place in the workforce.

All the Way

Dawn sneaks out of the house on Halloween to meet some boys, only to find that these boys are deadlier than they look. Willow and Tara fight about Willow's obsession with magic.

Once more, with Feeling

Buffy and her friends find themselves bursting into song, as the musical buzz spreads around Sunnydale. Buffy admits to her friends that she was actually in heaven and at peace when she was dead.

Tabula Rasa

Willow casts a spell to make Tara and Buffy forget their troubles, but it results in the whole gang forgetting who they are. Tara ends up leaving Willow when she realises what she has done.

Smashed

Spike tries to convince Buffy that she came back wrong, as he can hit her without his chip going off. Willow changes Amy back into a person from a rat, and Buffy and Spike share a night of passion.

Wrecked

Willow's reliance on magic becomes dangerous as she begins using it like a drug, and gets Dawn into the mix.

Gone

The Trio use an invisible ray to accidentally turn Buffy invisible, which could eventually destroy Buffy entirely.

Doublemeat Palace

Buffy is forced to get a job at the Doublemeat Palace to keep the money coming in, but as her co workers keep going missing or acting strangely, she begins to believe that something supernatural is going on.

Dead things

Buffy and Spike continue their sexual relationship, and the Trio try to trick Buffy into thinking that she has killed a girl. Buffy admits to Tara the nature of her relationship with Spike, and breaks down.

Older and Far Away

Dawn makes a wish to Halfrek, the Vengeance Demon, that people would stop leaving her. This results in no one being able to leave the Summers house during Buffy's 21st Birthday. Dawn's cry for help, however, goes unanswered.

As you were

Riley returns to town to track a demon, and learns of Buffy's relationship with Spike. Buffy breaks it off with Spike, realising that she is hurting both Spike and herself.

Hell's Bells

Xander and Anya prepare for their marriage, when in the end they realise that neither of them are ready for such a commitment, ending with Xander leaving Anya at the altar.

Normal Again

Buffy is injected with venom by a demon which makes her see hallucinations that she is in a mental institution. She must choose between her life as a slayer, or life with her parents and no slayer abilities.

Entropy

Anya and Spike share an intimite night as both try and drown their sorrows over lost love. Willow and Tara are reunited.

Seeing Red

Spike attacks Buffy in a fit of rage, then leaves town. Warren shoots Buffy in anger, also shooting Tara. Tara is killed, and Willow turns to the black arts to seek vengeance.

Villains

Willow goes looking for Warren after Tara is killed, and ends up wreaking her vengeance on him.

Two to Go

A very black haired Willow goes after Jonathan and Andrew, who are locked up in a jail. Buffy must try and stop Willow before she loses herself in the magicks.

Grave

Giles returns to stop Willow's anger fuelled rampage, and tries to help her get in touch with her humanity again. Xander saves the day when he tells Willow that he loves her and causes her to face up to what is plaguing her.
