After Buffy returns home, tensions are high as she must face up to her issues. Meanwhile, Joyce accidentally summons dead people from their graves with a mask from the gallery.
Faith, Hope and Trick
A new slayer, Faith, comes to town as Buffy tries to adjust to life with this new girl around. She must eventually help Faith stop running away from her past and put her demons to bed.
Beauty and the Beasts
Buffy tries to help an abused woman leave her superhuman boyfriend. Meanwhile, she is helping Angel after he comes back from hell, and she must come to terms with the fact that he is here again.
Homecoming
Cordelia and Buffy face off as they campaign for Homecoming Queen, but find themselves in the middle of plans to exterminate both slayers. Xander and Willow share an intimate moment.

As the gang sell candy to fundraise for the school, things take an unusal turn as the adults of Sunnydale start acting like teens.
Revelations
Buffy's friends find out that she has been hiding the fact that Angel is back, and a new watcher comes to town. Further investigation into this watcher proves that she is in fact extremely corrupted and evil.

Willow and Xander are kidnapped by a lovesick Spike. Meanwhile, they must come to terms with their relationship as they are discovered by Cordelia and Oz.
The Wish
Cordelia wishes to the Vengeance Demon Anya,that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale, spinning everyone into an alternate universe full of chaos and destruction.
Amends
Angel is tormented by ghosts of his past, and Buffy must save him from killing himself. In the end they come to terms with the fact that they love each other, and Angel realises exactly what Buffy has sacrificed.
Gingerbread
After Joyce finds the bodies of two children, she is influenced by them to sacrifice Buffy and Willow in the belief that they practise Witchcraft.
Helpless
Buffy loses her powers in a cruel test by the Watchers Council. Things turn deadly when the test spins out of control and Joyce is kidnapped by an insane vampire.
The Zeppo
Xander is the unlikely hero as he tries to boost his cool factor, and ends up saving his unaware friends from some dead guys who like to party.
Bad Girls
Buffy tries out Faith's lifestyle, only to find herself in a dangerous situation where Faith kills a human.
Consequences
Faith has joined forces with the Mayor, and Buffy tries to make Faith come to terms with her actions.
Doppelgangland
Anya and Willow do a spell which releases a vampire Willow into this reality. They must send her back to her world before she causes mayhem.
Enemies
Buffy and Angel work together to uncover Faith as the villain, and it puts a strain on their relationship when Angel goes undercover.
Earshot
Buffy inherits a the power to read minds as she battles with a demon, but it takes its toll on her psych.
Choices
The gang is forced to think about their future. This brings up issues about Buffy and Angel's relationship. Meanwhile, Willow is captured by the Mayor and Faith and the gang must work to get her back.
The Prom
Someone is training hellhounds to attack the Prom. Meanwhile, Angel realises that he cannot give Buffy any real future and tells her that he will be leaving town.
Graduation Day I
Angel is hit by a poison arrow, and Buffy realises that she must kill Faith to cure him.
Graduation Day II
Buffy decideds to put her life on the line to save Angel. Faith is in a coma. The gang battle the Mayor on Graduation Day
