1. Margaret Jane Parker, daughter of Thomas Parker and Jane Williams,
was born on 3 Aug 1907 in Bodangora, Nsw, Aus, died on 6 Jun 1981 in
South Sydney Hospital, Zetland, Nsw, Aus at age 73, and was buried on
10 Jun 1981 in Eastern Suburbs Crematorium, Botany, Nsw, Aus. Another
name for Margaret was Margaret Jane Thomas.
Margaret married William Reginald Percy Thomas, son of William John Thomas and Maria Margaret McKinnon, on 2 Aug 1926 in St Matthew's Church, Leadville, Nsw, Aus. William was born on 29 Jan 1906 in St Arnaud, Vic, Aus, died on 2 Apr 1973 in Prince Henry Hospital, Little Bay, Nsw, Aus at age 67, and was buried on 4 Apr 1973 in Eastern Suburbs Crematorium, Botany, Nsw, Aus.
Children from this marriage were:

(born on 19 Jul 1927 in Paddington Hospital, NSW, Australia - died on
31 May 1998 in Prince Henry Hospital, Little Bay, Nsw, Aus)
ii. Living

v. Trevor John Thomas Mr (born on 4 Mar 1937 in Paddington, Nsw, Aus - died on 28 Apr 2006 in Budgewoi, Nsw, Aus)
2. Thomas Parker, son of John Parker and Anne Smith,
was born on 26 Aug 1856 in Cowra, N.S.W. Australia, died on 21 Aug 1933
in Leadville, N.S.W. Australia at age 76, and was buried on 22 Aug 1933
in Leadville, N.S.W. Australia.
General Notes: It states on Thomas Parker's Marriage Certificate to Jane Williams that he was a Widower.
Thomas
Parker was previously married. Family legend has it that his first wife
Sarah PURCELL died giving birth to their first child, although her death
certificate states she died of epilepsy. The child did not live.
Thomas
& Jane were married at Carcoar and moved to Leadville. Their
youngest daughter, Margaret Jane Thomas nee Parker was born at
Bodangora. Their youngest Son David was born at Leadville.
Florence was born at Mt McDonald and all the other children were born in Carcoar.
W.
"Reg" & Margaret Thomas lived with Margaret's parents at Leadville
as her mother was in a wheelchair and needed care. According to family
members, when Thomas Parker died, in Aug 1933, the house at Leadville
was left to their youngest son David Parker. So The Thomas family moved
to Botany. Jane Parker then lived with her youngest son, David and his
wife, at Livingstone Street, Botany. Jane Parker nee Williams died
October 1933.
After Thomas married Jane he stayed on the right side of the law.
Later
in his life, Thomas converted his religion to Seventh Day Adventist.
His grandchildren remember him sitting on his veranda reading his Bible.
It seems obvious that he was looking for forgiveness for his "wild colonial days".
Charles
White who wrote "John Vane - bush ranger" in 1908, said it all in the
Cowra Press when he wrote an article about John Vane's death.
"...for they long since realise he was a victim of misfortune, which
might at that period of bush sensationalism have befallen any young
fellow in the bush whose nature craved excitement, but who yet could
not be said to be drawn or driven by criminal instinct or impulse".
It
must be noted that Thomas Parker's father died in 1859 when Thomas was
2 years old. His mother was left a widow with 5 children aged 8 years
to 4 months old. She remarried in 1861 and had another 9 children over
a period of 23 years. She had 14 children in 31 years.
Thomas was not close to his family, except his brother William. William and Thomas were married to sisters.
It
is strange, that on all Thomas' certificates his parents are either not
noted or stated "unknown". This is not possible as he had contact with
John Vane who was married to Thomas' sister, Jane. Thomas and his wife,
Jane, lived in Carcoar, where his mother and stepfather lived. Thomas
& Jane moved from Carcoar between 1901 & 1903. Jane Parker in
noted in the Early Federal Electoral Roll in 1903 at Bodangora. It was
difficult to find Thomas Parker as there are several people of that
name in various locations.
There was obviously a family rift as Jane
Parker (Thomas' sister, who married John Vane) was born and died in
Carcoar and on her marriage certificate, parents are not noted, even
though Jane would have been 19 years old when she married John Vane.
The informant on her death certificate was her son Thomas Vane and he
has noted on his mother's death certificate "parents unknown".
The above is the reason why I believe that there was a parting of the ways with mother and siblings from the first marriage.
In
saying this it is noted that on their mother's(Ann
Sampson/Parker/Smith) death certificate in 1905 all children to both
marriages are noted. The informant of her death certificate was her
second eldest daughter, Ellen Loudon Sampson, who was married to Terence
Aubrey O'Hara WALSH, who was Jane Williams' (Thomas Parker's wife)
Uncle - her mother's brother.

General Notes: Jane PARKER suffered
with acute arthritis. Her youngest daughter, Margaret, use to go to
school until noon, she would then come home and do housework and
prepare the evening meal for the rest of the family. Jane was confined
to a wheelchair in the later years.
Maybe this was the reason
why, after Margaret married in 1926, she continued to live with her
parents until her father's death in 1933.
It is believed that Jane gave up the will to live after her husband died on 21st August 1933. She died 70 days later.
