It
all began in February 1982, some six months after my maternal
grandmother, Maggie Thomas, passed away.
I wanted to know how we
were related
to the bush ranger "John Vane".
Well, some 23 years, and
hundreds of
new found relations later, I now have sufficient evidence to prove that
John Vane is my
great - great uncle (by
marriage).
John Vane married Jane Parker. Jane Parker is Maggie Thomas' aunt.
During this journey I
have made many
discoveries. Some are skeletons that have been unearthed. I have not
unearthed them to make anyone embarrassed.
They are skeletons that
make up a
persons life. They set our pathway through life. We all have skeletons,
if we didn't we wouldn't be human.
As George Bernard Shaw
said "If you
can't get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance."
This compilation is a
result of hours
of research from the Internet, library resources, people's
recollections and experience's.
The contributors are too
many to spell
out individually, but to all I am very grateful for their contributions
in assisting me
rebuild our family.
I am indebted to my Aunty Jan for all her knowledge of the
APPS Family.
Without her assistance I would not have this information and photos
to share.
