Aeroplane Heaven

As a part of my Multimedia studies I undertook a six week work placement at Brisbane based company Aerospace Heaven.

Aeroplane Heaven specialise in the development of add on aircraft for the Microsoft Flight Simulator range of products.

Aeroplane Heaven Launcher

During my time at Aeroplane Heaven I was charged with the responsibility of developing a program that would aid Aeroplane Heaven's customers.

The Aeroplane Heaven Launcher was designed to help inexperienced users customise their Flight Simulator 2004 aircraft, or to aid users who might be daunted by the idea of editing multi-hundred line configuration files.

The Aeroplane Heaven Launcher was developed in Visual Basic .NET and features XML configuration options and .ini editing abilities.

Features

• Graphical customisation of the Flight Simulator 2004 aircraft .config files.
• Interaction with the Window's registry to determine the location of the Flight Simulator 2004 installation.
• Custom Object-Oriented .ini file parsing.
• Flexible XML back end for specifying aircraft configuration options.
• Ability to target and retrieve data from specific window controls according to XML parameters.
• Alter the aircraft handling data based on the configuration chosen by the user.
