I finally bought a camera in order to document certain adventures. I seem to be having more these days. So without further ado, here is the camera's first outing. We, being Marko, Monisha and myself, set out early from Canberra on Thursday morning. I pulled out the camera for the first time at Tallangatta, on the Murray River, just south east of Albury.

Of course, all of our intra-journey stops are at servos, so the scenery is limited.

But most of the countryside around there looks pretty much like this.

Down through the vineyard drive on the way to Mansfield there are some nicer servos...

... and some nicer roads, too.

Yea! Melbourne! Oh wait, we're still only in Mansfield.

We finally made it to our temporary abode on the island.

But the facilities were a little lacking. That TV is even smaller than it looks.

And of course, being the single person, I AGAIN got the kids' room with the 5 foot long beds.

At least the bikes had a nice place to sleep.

While I took up a position that would return to many times over the weekend, relaxing and admiring the view.

The view.

Did I mention the view?

The other view. We had some promo or grid girls staying next door.

We also had a large visitor.

And then a small one. There's a bunny in that photo, I swear.

I went for a closer look.

But mr bunny saw me coming and ran away...

... to get reinforcements!

With a suitable mess in place we felt more at home, so headed into Cowes...

... which was still only just starting to see the first few arrivals on Friday.

Things got a little busier that night though.

And the next day.

Which meant the police started to show up in force too. BOO! No wheelies or burnouts this year.

Steak was had at the local RSL, and the camera really highlighted the sunburn sported by Nicko and Ali. Sorry Ali. Also, we couldn't get the cannon to work.

So fun was had back at the ranch instead, with port and scrabble.

And on sunday we settled in for some serious GP watching.

Maybe not so serious.

That night the expensive bikes were in Cowes. VTR SP2, Benelli Tornado, MV Augusta, Ducati 748. Oh... and a ZX9R. *Cough*.

Meanwhile the bunnies had attempted to launch a night offensive. Fortunately I was ready with my camera and drove them back to their burrows. Run, puny earth creatures!

We managed to take a wrong turn on the ride back, and stopped at a random point on a seemingly empty road, where we were surprisingly greeted by a doggy! And a lot of cows. Mon was charged with leading the doggy back to its owner.

Our trip back. I believe this was Yarram, near the coast about 180km ESE of Melbourne.

This is what Cann River looks like the Monday after the GP finishes. Cann river is a good 400km from Melbourne, but there are still plenty of bikes around on this particular day.

Although there weren't quite as many at the servo as last year!!
